FAQuestions: Special Claims
After Claims Numbers are received, you may submit for that amount on
your next month's voucher. When calculating the daily rate, do I use 30 for
all months?
No, use the actual number of days for the particular
month of the move out. (e.g. November has 30 days whereas December has 31)
I submitted some special claims requests and NTHDC is telling me I need
to submit more information than HUD or NTHDC has required in the past. Why?
HUD updated several of the requirements for special
claims and released these in August 2006.
Your CCS should have sent the checklist of these requirements for
the different types of special claims. NTHDC is required under its contract
with HUD to comply with the standards released for special claims in August
of 2006.
I heard HUD is answering questions pertaining to the new guide. If I have a question, whom do I direct it
to?
Direct all questions to your CCS or for specific
Guidebook questions, use the link below for access to HUD’s Special
Claims Questions Mailbox at Special_Claims_Comment_Box@hud.gov.
What if I disagree with
NTHDC's adjustment or denial of claims I have submitted?
If you disagree with a determination made by NTHDC, you have
30 days from the date you were notified of our decision to appeal. You may
submit missing documents or further documentation so the decision may be
reviewed. If adequate support is provided, NTHDC may change its
determination.
